Hi, I'm Gisèle!
Hello and welcome, I am Gisèle McDiarmid, a compassionate health coach with a nursing background. I am glad you are here and would genuinely like to meet you because like you, I have been living with fibromyalgia for over 25 years. I understand the physical and emotional struggles that accompany it.
Now you may also be dealing with multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) and/or myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), and if so then, you are also welcome here! MCS and ME/CFS have accompanied my fibromyalgia as well, so I have a further understanding of the additional frustrations you have had to face.
I have walked the same long path and experienced the isolation and overwhelm that you probably have, consulting numerous specialists, and trying countless strategies and treatments, only to find minimal relief or even worsening symptoms. I can, however, tell you that it is possible to reclaim your health and thrive again because I have done just that!
Through my own experience with health and fibromyalgia coaching, and finding the right treatments, methods, and systems that worked best for me, I've experienced a remarkable transformation in my health. I am now thriving and embracing life with joy once again! Although there is no cure yet, sometimes I may experience some symptoms if I overdo it, but because I know how to handle it, the issues tend to be mild and do not last for long now.

Professional Bio
Prior to working as a health coach helping clients with fibromyalgia, MCS, ME/CFS, and now also long Covid, I worked as a Registered Nurse for 12 years, in Canada and the USA specializing in Neurology and as an Assistant Nurse-Manager in Medicine. The Montréal General Hospital, in Québec, and the Shepherd Center for Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries in Atlanta, Georgia were valuable learning experiences that would serve years later to inform my health coaching practice.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, majoring in Psychology (Cum Laude) and an ICF-recognized dual certification in health and life coaching. As the International Coaching Federation, ICF sets the standards for professional coaching excellence around the world.
I have always been motivated to help others regain their health so they could return to living and enjoying their lives again.
When I personally experienced the health improvements from Fibromyalgia Coaching, I saw that being a Fibromyalgia Coach would provided a unique model of support through which I could offer my clients the best of my formal education, as well as professional and personal experiences. Because Fibromyalgia Health and Wellness Coaching is a unique treatment option that is essentially:
-
one part wellness coaching
-
one part life coaching
-
one part health education
I love working with my coaching clients, whether they have fibromyalgia, MCS, ME/CFS, or long Covid.
I completed the initial 3 Month Certified Fibromyalgia Advisor® program with the International Fibromyalgia Coaching Institute, fibromyalgiacoachinginstitute.com, focusing on fibromyalgia specific strategies to improve one’s health and well-being. I followed that training with a year long internship and mentorship in the Certified Fibromyalgia Coach® program working directly with Fibro Warriors to help them live as well as possible while managing fibromyalgia.
I also completed further studies of specific strategies to improve one's health and well-being when living with either MCS, ME/CFS, and long Covid.
